Looks like one of the Internet's more interesting Biblical studies blog has been taken down. I wonder if the Thought Police had anything to do with it.

Other bloggers who, upset by how their writing and scholarship have been analyzed in recent posts, might complain directly to Wordpress and attempt to get the blog shut down.

This happened a few hours ago. I still have an open tab that shows the vridar home page. I can still see the first part of this post: "McGrath’s Review of Brodie’s Memoir: Incompetent or Dishonest?" Further down is "The Laziness and Incompetence of Yet Another Biblical Scholar" - this and two other recent posts are somewhat critical of Joel Watts.

Would Wordpress really take that kind of complaint seriously?? I hope not. Surely criticism of scholarship is allowed on there.

We don't know anything yet. Someone might have charged a copyright violation, and Wordpress would have to take that seriously.

As I told Neil just now, I suspect it was Joel Fatts's doing. He did something to me awhile back.

I am deeply glad that I host my own Wordpress instance. I hope there is a backup of the site.
