Default Tertullian Read Book One of Clement's Stromateis?

From Robert Edward Roberts's the Theology of Tertullian 1924:

Quote:
The fact that Tertullian had evidently read Book I of the Stromateis of Clement of Alexandria and the Adversus Omnes Haereseis of Irenaeus before composing De Praescriptione Haereticorum is not without some bearing on the date of this book.
I can see arguing that he might have read the book, but is this 'a fact'? What is the evidence?

But Jean DaniƩlou the Origins of the Latin Church p. 193:

Quote:
Since Tertullian was certainly not acquainted with the works of Clement of Alexandria, the esoteric teaching that he had in mind could not have been simply that of Clement. It must have been esoteric teaching in general, in other words, the kind that is largely identified with apocalyptic writing.

Hello Stephan, do you have access to L'Annee Philologique? It's organized by year. It lists publications on ancient studies and gives short summaries of most of them. You could try looking up under Tertullian. I looked into the online version but there were over 1000 entries!
