Any Ideas About How To Copy this Locked Edition of De Recta in Deum Fide?
http://khazarzar.skeptik.net/books/adamanti.pdf
It won't even allow me to copy a fair use sized portion of the text. Odd. |

1) Save a copy of the PDF to your computer, somewhere that you can find it easily (like your desktop)
2) Go to freemypdf.com 3) Click the "browse" button, navigate to the copy on your computer, click "open" and then click the "Do It!" button. 4) After a few seconds, you'll get a prompt to save or open the unlocked PDF. Enjoy! |

Are you saying that it does or does not work?
If it doesn't work for you - What kind of computer are you using? |

n/m - they used an embedded font that cannot be cut-n-pasted.

Perhaps Stephan can use an OCR program, but my experience has been that there will be plenty of scanning errors of inflected Greek text.
Try Ben C. Smith's Text Excavation site. I think he had available some tools to convert certain fonts to UTF-8 Unicode. I could not find a font. My guess would be that the OCR program was not set to read Greek. I scanned it using ABBYY's OCR screenshot utility and get this: {ΑΔΑΜΑΝΤΙΟΣ.} Οί τον φιλαλήθη καί φιλάνθρωπον τρόπον μεταδιώκοντες καί την τούδε τού κόσμου δίοδον εύ μάλα βιούν έθέ- λοντες, επί την άξιέραστον καί άξιάγαστον πίστιν την εις θεόν άφο- ρώντες, εγκρατείς τής άμείνονος καί τελειότατης δόξης γίνονται, τουναντίον δε οί άστάτω γνώμη καί περιέργω γνώσει καί άνοήτω λογισμώ άδοξίαν αντί δόξης θεώ προϊέμενοι. όθεν μοι δοκεΐ ού μικρόν κίνδυνον είναι τον τής επισφαλούς καί φαύλης εις θεόν πίστεως• βάσιν γάρ οίμαι καί έδραίωμα είναι πασών τών αρετών την άρμόζουσαν θεώ δόξαν τε καί πίστιν όθεν, εϊ σοι δοκει, άρ- If you compare this to the original, you'll see that it did not pick up on things like rough or smooth breathing, iota subscript or the circumflex accent. You can, however, "train" the full fledged version of ABBYY to read letters it does not automatically recognize. DCH |
