Correct. Presumably, according to some observers, Wordpress diligently investigated all my points in my counter-claim, discovered that Joel Watts had indeed set his system clock back, had removed his creative commons notice, had been found to have perjured himself -- and that they had made an egregious error in removing my post, let alone blog, in the first place!

That would be the conclusions of some commentators on this fiasco if they are to be consistent.

I am being sarcastic, of course. Wordpress follows a risk averse policy when it comes to any claims of breach of IP rights as do many servers and institutions hosting websites -- that is, take no chances. Some observers choosing to interpret Wordpress's actions as determined by judicial or police-type investigations informs us of their wishful thinking and what they'd love to see happen to Vridar and me personally.

You will need a US agent (lawyer) with a US address to lodge a claim. Perhaps you can find one who will work in return for traded articles, such as boomerangs or sight-seeing trips around Darwin. Alternatively you might try contacting agents associated with certain large-scale mythicist-supporting publishing organisations.

A lawyer would not be interested in this - there are no significant economic damages.

The only public interest group that might be concerned is the EFF - Electronic Frontier Foundation -

If you search their site for <DMCA takedown>, they have a file of cases where DMCA was abused. It looks like they spend their time and effort at lobbying and rulemaking, but they have brought lawsuits.

See this case involving Diebold.Of course, if Joel Watts were a member of a professional organization that had standards of conduct, and enforced them, you might be able to complain to that organization. But he's a Christian - not perfect, and forgiven for his sins.

If I ever get my damn bar number (the character investigation is taking forever), I'd be happy to at least do some research for you. I'm not sure where Watts lives, but unless it's Arizona, I wouldn't be able to file anything though.

Christian forgiveness is conditional on repentance and confession, neither of which Watts has done. As far as the Biblical account of forgiveness in the story of John the Baptist is concerned, people in Watts' position remain under the curse of damnation until they are sorry. You cannot be forgiven for a sin if you don't think you have done anything wrong. Has Watts apologised to Godfrey?
