Post Another positive C/S seperation decision

The full 9th Circuit court issued an injunction today against the sale of land upon which the Mt. Soledad Cross (a 43 ft. high "war memorial") sits to a conservative organization, holding that the arguments that the city had impermissibly biased the selection and bidding process towards groups which would maintain the cross held merit.

A 9th circuit panel had previously allowed that sale.

Since this particular cross (less than 2 miles from just about every place that I have lived in San Diego, and extremely visible) has annoyed me for nearly 30 years, I'm quite happy about the decision, but it's yet more fodder that I'm sure I'll hear about in the papers for the fundies to demonize the atheists with.

Cheers,
