I am most gratified by members of The Readership having done my job for me. [They will be gratified they do not have to read another tedious post by you.--Ed.] Hush!

I recall a discussion years ago where a student--who I was later told believed photographs stole portions of his soul!--started a discussion with, "well, let's assume Aristophanes wrote it this way and--" to which I interupted, "but he didn't so let's move on!"

What . . . what we've got here. . . .

Leave aside the problems with building a house of cards on a shakey foundation . . . an individual wishes to pontificate on aspects of something whose nature we have demonstrated does not require further consideration.

It may seem an "improvement" over the contention that if a deity were to alleviate the suffering of the child the child would lose her "individuality"--it is not.

This is like Sir. Arthur Conan-Doyle considering how may types of fairies . . . faeries . . . little flying bug-people things exist when he has not established the existence of them.

Of course, we [You promised a short post!--Ed.] can try to "dress up" the failed concept with A Big Name to hope it confers some majesty to it.

It does not.

Now we are left with a truly pathetic situation where the individual jumps up and down proclaiming she is really . . . REALLY . . . like SMART . . . infact . . . SMARTER THAN YOU . . . as if this confers majesty to failed argumentation.

With "Dr. Science" it is funny. Here, it is sad.

Default "God" as the ultimate terrorist

The recent heat wave in France has killed an estimated 3000 people, which is a body count similar to Sep 11. So why for those who believe in an omnipotent god do not believe this in not an act of terrorism?

Even factoring out greenhouse warming which may be partly our doing we are still left with potential natural disasters which would be far more catastrophic, because through careful analysis of optical imagery over the past 50 years of an asteroid identified as 1950 DA which is one kilometer in diameter will have a one a 300 chance of making a direct hit on earth with the explosive force of a 100,000 megaton bomb. There are thousands of others that are not yet identified the do not need to be anywhere near the size of that one that could bring on the end of civilization as we know it.

Should Bush extent his war of terrorism to a war on his god who has the potential to cause more destruction of earth than Osama Bin Ladin ever dreamt of?

The French really cannot expect George the Younger to help them. . . .

Perhaps the Magical Pixies--helpers of the IPU (PBUH) made all the stuff Clinton knew he had disappear. . . .

Now that requires faith.

However, I could not blame an Almighty, a Big Daddy, an OmniGOD, for Saddam bringing Hell to Earth for his people. . .

. . . though one might blame men . . . particularly those in the French government . . . and Russian government . . . who depended upon Saddam for special oil concessions--on the conditions they could get the sanctions lifted without giving up his WMDs--for allowing him to continue.

Sometimes men create evil and men perpetuate it.

[Brief Interlude Commences--Ed.]

At least those who disagree with others here do not take the Coward's Way and put people on "ignore" because they cannot handle evidence.

That applies for everyone.
