Which line was that? I'm already fed up with cheese dialogue like "Yippee!" I'm just waiting for some completely out-of-place dialogue ("To the hand you will talk, yes") to put me over the edge.

Jar Jar Binks: Exsqueeze me?

I couldn't believe I heard it the first time. But since I had the misfortune to actually see the movie twice, I definitely heard it the second time.

My wife and I are fans of episodes 4-6, but neither of us have liked 1 and 2, I have little hope for Episode 3. Shes convinced it's because we aren't in third grade anymore I'm convinced it's because they suck. honestly the C3PO bullshit during the all out Jedi arena battle at the end of episode 2 just made me want to hurl..

I think the world has moved on. Just look at WETA's stuff and the Matrix, better actors, story lines, dialogue, fx, etc. I also think that ILM is stuck in this weird "use CGI to simulate reality" thing, where WETA is innovating. WETA seems to have more of a CGI=art mentality. I mean, compare the opening Moria scene in 2T with Gandalf and the Balrog to the Jedi Arena Battle in Episode 2. It makes the Arena battle (the climax of the film) almost an embarrassment.

I don't expect great things from epIII, but I plan to see it when it hits the theatres for the sole purpose of being able to come back here and bash it along with everyone else.

I think the George Lucas that made the original trilogy was kidnapped and replaced by the George Lucas from Bizzaro World. I expect epIII to be just another 2 hour toy commercial, because that is where Lucas makes all his money. Merchandizing!!

Maybe it will be called Episode III: The Quest For More Money

I think another problem was that LOTR used the "Helm's Deep" scene to show the seriousness of the situation. Yes, there were afew moments of levity, but overall you got the feeling that time was running out and that things were dim. Gandalf's arrival with Eomer at the end was the best fight conclusion since Luke turned off his radar and "used The Force" in SW.

SW: AotC, on the other hand, had far too many dumb C3-PO jokes, and one never got the sense that the situation was dire.

Mark Hamill has said that the biggest problem with Eps 1 and 2 is that there is no Han Solo character. The comic relief attempts to come from Jar Jar, or C3PO, and fails. I don't think a new Han Solo character could erase the evil of the newest films, but it couldn't be worse. Could it?

I imagine my spawn will want to see Episode III in the theater. I can always make her buy the tickets with her allowance money. (Yes, I am an evil mom, I have done that before.)

I would agree with Mr. Hamill. Additionally, Lucas' idea of what constitutes comic relief is in and of itself comic. I've been thinking more about the obvious comparisons between SW, LOTR, and Matrix since my last post. In comparison the SW universe really seems quaint and antiquated, this is coming from a die hard SW fan. It almost makes me sad to write it.

Obi-wan Kenobi: What gave it away, Sherlock?

Luke: Well, for starters...she's the only woman in the Star Wars universe except for Mon Mothma and the green chick at Jabba's place.

Yeah... well it was a surprise though... and unlike the Naboo and Gungan stuff I liked the style of that.
