The article appeared in a Dutch gay magazine of which I do not remember the name, sorry.

I think poor Cardinal Law moved the priests around to protect both the children and the priests who themselves were victims of a very hypocratic puritan society.
I just want to clarify that the remarks you quoted were galiel's and not mine.

Gemma,

during the Facist period prior to and in WWII, the Church supported Facism in every country where it appeared. It dismantled the opposition to Hitler. It supported Franco, and cut deals with Hitler and Mussolini to advance its interests in those nations. It supplied a cleric to act as dictator of the rump state of Slovakia. Clerics ran death camps, and cooperated and led hunts for Jews. After the war, the Church helped spirit out Balkan Nazis and their cash. The Church is a very sick organization, intent only on its own power. It has never repudiated any of its actions during the war.

Cornwell's book is dead on, despite attempts by Catholics to smear it. Max Kolbe, although he apparently attempted to save individual Jews, believed the anti-Semitic propaganda of his time, for example, buying the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a real document, and accusing Judaism of being behind atheistic communism. His real achievement was his ability to see others as human beings despite 2,000 years of Church propaganda and despite coming from an anti-Semitic society. That is a genuine advance, and one completely against the tenets of the Church he supported.

Alright. I started this topic and would really like some more discussion on Bernie the Pimp and what is going to happen with this scandal.

To Sister Gemma: Enough already with these pictures and all your little statements. Go start your own thread or say something about Bernie and the scandal.

To Amos: Bullfeathers! Your dear child raping priests are NOT victims of a hypocratic(sic) puritanical society. Your analysis of American society is simplistic and only runs on the tracks of your gonzo catholicism. Your bloody clergy are the ones who claim to be celibate and other-worldly. They are not victims of society, they are sick sexual predators who actually do the victimization. Your holy church is a force of corruption in society and indeed is full of hypocracy.

I find it outrageous that Bernie is not expelled from the church. Exactly what do you have to do to get kicked out? Are there no moral standards in the catholic church? Is it really nothing but nihilism? I wonder.

You know, I've heard anti-Catholicism is the anti-Senitism of liberals. The more I hang out here, the more I see this.

Entertainment is watching grown men and women take orders from a senile old man while eating magical crackers, drinking blood and talking to imaginary creatures that supposedly live in the sky.

That's entertainment, Gemma.

I'm not anti-Catholic, but I think the Catholic church has let burn a lot of fires that it could have extinguished much sooner.

I have no doubt that "anti-Catholics" frequent this site, but do not mistake criticism of the Catholic church's policies and or dogma as a crticism of Catholics.
