One of the best debunks of the alleged 'Bible Code' can be found <a href="http://www.rsingermanson.com/html/biases.html" target="_blank">here</a> and <a href="http://www.rsingermanson.com/html/analysis.html" target="_blank">here</a>

I used to hang out with some born-agains, and even they thought the bible code was garbage.

I just beat me to the punch as I made the same link on <a href="http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10782" target="_blank"> this thread </a>.
I think at least "Moby Dick" is a more plausible whale story than Jonah but I still would not read any secret codes into it.

Perhaps I am dumb, but who the &lt;whatever&gt; is the "US Agent Deed" in the Martin Luther King section?

Yes it amazes me why so many people have so much time on their hands, they waste is all on stupid word games with books. The Grimms Tairy Tale codes may be next.

Miek Rosoft</strong>
It's for the 'conspiracy theorists' More than a few Black Panther types believed that MLK's assasination was in some way orchestrated by the 'establishment'.

See? The Moby Dick Code bears them out - MLK really WAS setup to be assasinated by the FBI (or whoever).

Cheers,

Completely bogus. It all depends on how you define your code, and there is no "divine inspiration" around to tell you how to construct your coding scheme, or which scheme is the "right one". You could probably create a code that finds the phrase, "Jesus has anal sex with cattle" if you tried enough combinations.

Hi guys, sorry for the late reply as I'm kinda of busy these few days. Anyway, I'm quite surprised that there is no hardcore bible code defenders here and everyone seems to insist that bible code is crap(as I do).
By the way, when do some professors bent on saying that the bible code is a fact? Are they confused or deeply religious?

Question

Of course, there's the whole issue of what version of the Bible to use? I mean, should you use a King James, an RSV, or one printed on the earliest printing press? And in what language? English, German, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic? The idea that people thousands of years ago could code something in a book when translated into English (especially Americanized English) is absolutely ridiculous! Bunk!
