Water
If the Noachian deluge occurred in today's world, the combination of precipitation and ocean floor infusion of water would have to raise sealevel at a rate of six inches per minute in order to fill the earth to the level specified in the time given. This would calculate to approximately one billion cubic miles of water entering the hydrosphere and leaving. That's a lot of water.
I think Noah and the Ark is the most delightful fairy tale in the whole Bible. Every child's toy box should have an ark with a full complement of animals. But as an anchor to challenge all of science, come on! |

The problem with this is that creationists certainly don't claim that the flood covered the present Earth, rather, it allegedly layed down the current geological formations. The mechanics of this are mind-boggling, but your original calculation doesn't really apply.
BTW, did you do the math yourself or did you just copy this from <a href="http://members.madasafish.com/~fist/articles/fossilflood.htm" target="_blank">here</a>? |

Being a Biblical inerrantist is a daunting task as any flat earther would tell you. However, my calculations are based on geometry, the diameter of the earth and the assumption that "high mountains under the whole heavens" in Genesis 7:19 means "high mountains under the whole heavens" The geological formations resulting from this influx and "drying up" of water is a different issue and is not even addressed in the Bible! Presumably the height of pre-Noachian high mountains varies somewhat from today's high mountains, so my numbers are crude estimates. Any way you look at it, that's a lot of water.
Parenthentically, the latest theory proposes that Santa Claus can visit the homes of all the good children at precisely twelve midnight and even spend some time snacking on cookies and milk because he creates a bubble in time whereby the flow of time is stopped for the rest of the universe while he performs his merry tasks.
