*is filled with shame at this* But. I used to go to an Anglican school. I can remember exactly one person who you could say was a commited Christian, and he was.... how shall I say this? One messed up little mofo (Wierd family... the father believed in pressure point torture to toughen him up, and banned him from watching Star Wars. which). (Ironically, religious people seemed to be the exception there) |

Hello.
I went to an anglican school in australia for three years, and was shocked to discover near the end of my last year there, that EVERYONE was a creationist (slightly exaggerated). All my freinds, and even my science teacher (who was teaching evolution) were creationists. So they exist, but they generally keep quiet because ours is a country where religion is usually (mercifully) kept to onesself. As for the proportion of nonbelievers, the latest cencus puts us at 25% to the christian 65%. |

well.
I could be on the very verge of being stood corrected. Though I'll agree with religion being kept to yourself. (I only recently found out that one of my lifelong friends was a strong protestant) Out of curiosity; how long ago did you go to school, and where was it? (in my case, Brisbane/Ipswich and 3 years ago) |

Kuu and others,
I just took the time to read posters comments and about Dr. Plimer at the link you provided. The dumbing down of societies and attacks on professionals such as Dr. Plimer worldwide is permitted and continues because the Creationist's agenda is political and politically supported despite the religious facade. Think about it, it is much easier to lead a people by emotion/faith versus reason/facts.More products and ideologies are sold with an appeal to emotion/faith vs reason/facts than any other tool. Idiots are everywhere. Nothing new with that. There's a few churches embracing cretinism in sweden as well...I even worked together with a cretinist before.
