Lightbulb Calling all NON-artists who do art anyway!!!

Alright, I am ripping off gilly54's "calling all artists" thread slightly, but I didn't want to post this on that thread because I am *not* an artist, I just enjoy painting for self-expression and relaxation!

Took this pic of an almost-finished canvas last night... untitled as of yet.

Now I showed you mine, so you show me yours!!!

Thumbs up

Christ-on-a-stick, neat painting! I am also not an artist, though I have dated quite a few (artists) and been married to two of them in my life. I think craftsmanship can be as satisfying as art if it is challenging enough in its concept. How are you defining art?

I'm impressed, COAS! I can't even draw stick people that look like stick people.

I definitely agree.

That's the tricky part! In a super-duper-generic way, I might use the word to describe *many* things - i.e., "hey look at the kids' artwork on the fridge". I use the word in another way to describe music, literature and types of craftmanship - I generally refer to them as "art forms". For example, I would certainly call what LadyShea referred to

artistic.

I guess because the word itself (art) is, IMO, *totally* 100% subjective, I am calling myself a "non-artist" because I don't think of myself as one although I think I have an "artistic temperament" and some artistic ability as expressed through singing, playing (and writing some music for) piano, fiction writing, and the occasional painting (ooh and I want to try photography too).

Anyhoo that's my long-ass answer to your question.

Sounds artistic to me. Have any pictures?

I like your painting Ms. Stick.

Slavik, I convinced my browser to display your comics. I think you can draw. I like the protagonist. But that doesn't look much like George Bush.

I don't do visual art (although in my youth I painted D&D figures), but I'll email an mp3 of one of the two songs I wrote to anyone who asks.
