Guess that phylum! When you're ready to give up, do a google search for Asbestopluma. Look here for a larger picture.

Good news and bad news Claudia:

Bad news: you got all the mousies wrong.

Good news: you got all the viveridae and similar correct.

Yup. Not only are they their own 'kind', but indeed they're all the same species: Alcoholicus balderdashi

Rat-like: I know for a fact that the bottom one is the African Pouched Rat (that's what they used for Ben in Willard). So I'm guessing ...

Top: Potoroo
Middle: Anechinus
Bottom: African Pouched Rat

And W@L gets another virtual star! Just to keep the picture-to-noise ratio up, here's another procyonidae that didn't quite make the cut:

And here's an interesting tidbit about Antechinus:
Quote:
The antechinus, a mouse-like tree dwelling marsupial from Australia, concentrates on sex to the exclusion of all else. Once spring comes, the males mate for 12 hours at a time and their marathon orgies can involve as many as 16 partners. These tiny Casanovas have such one track minds they even forget to eat, drink or sleep. Such passion takes its toll. They become thin, their hair starts to fall out and they fall to the ground exhausted. The only activity the males take time out for is to fight among themselves. Within two weeks all the males are dead, leaving the females to bring up the next generation.
And now, spot the plant:

Hint, it's a Lithops.
