Default Letter to the editor

Found here in my local newspaper.

Quote:
This letter is in response to all who have some ignorant thought that God, Christianity or the Bible are not a part of government or U.S. history. Our founding fathers were, for the most part, godly men who took the Bible's principles to construct our Constitution and the Declaration in Independence.

The Bible has played an important part in the following areas:

Effect on the U.S. judicial system laws covering murder, stealing and lying. The source of these laws came directly from the Bible. Deuteronomy.

Effect on benevolent practices in society: I'm not aware of any schools or hospitals that were started or supported by atheists.

Christianity's influence in education: Harvard, Princeton and Yale were founded by Christians. In fact, the first 126 colleges and universities in the U.S.A. were built for the glory of Jesus and the advancement of the gospel.

The constitutions of most states are based on the Bible's influence with a reference to an "Almighty God" or "Supreme Creator."
Thought you'd like a kick.

Oooh... got that one about... ten feet. Not a good kicker, myself.

Worst part is, you can twist most of the facts so they look that way.

Yeah, Washington and Jefferson and Madison all checked off Christian on their census forms... but was there even another box to tick?

Give me a break. Is he saying that there were no laws against murder, stealing, or lying until the bibble was written?

Well, those big stone tablets with the Code of Hamurabi, and all those Chinese writings are just diabolical mimicry to fool us atheists. Everybody knows God invented writing and gave it to Moses on Mt. Sinai!

I'd better stop before this gets demoted to ~~~Elsewhere~~~.

There's a similar letter in my local paper today that goes on and on about Jebus, Gahd, and our need for "Biblical values" in today's evil, librul society.

I could have been worse, although I have to wonder at the mindset of those people. My paper printed one a day or two ago that told the Palestinians that they needed to read their bible again, as God clearly gave Israel to the Jews. According to the letter, the Palestinians were only able to occupy the land through military action that went against God’s chosen people and should cease all attempts to return to the land. :banghead:
