oh, is that what "far right" means? does "far left" carry the same connotation?
Yes. It seems that the goal of any extremist is to have everybody excatly like themselves. |

Speaking of Madalyn Murray O'Hair:
She had two sons. One of them, Jon, was an Atheist and a leader of her national group. The other one, who is a Christian, had a daughter named Robin. He abandoned her, and she was raised by Madalyn and her uncle Jon. All three of them were murdered by a guy who had worked for them. Now if the other brother is a Christian, why would he abandon his daughter so that the other family members would have to raise her? Personally, I would much rather live around the realistic viewpoint of atheism than the you-are-a-worthless-piece-of-shit-sinner doctrine, of Christianity. I tried to kill myself to get away from the pain of the constant criticism of so called "loving Christians". Christianity is socially sanctioned mental and emotional abuse. I have never been judged, insulted, ordered around, and told how awful and sinful I am just for breathing, by anyone but conservative Christians I have been around liberal Christians such as Presbyterians and Episcopalians, Unitarians, Jews, Buddhists and Hindus. Not one single person in any of those religions has been less than courteous and respectful to me. |

Hi Sabine
Frankly I am confused how you can make such an assumption on my account considering you do not know me personaly nor do you have any knowledge of the 47 years of my life and whether or not I am an individual who " does not want to talk about the subject and does not want others to talk about it" You then proceed into a harangue where you are actualy " preaching to the choir". Sorry we got off to a rough start. Some of your words hit a nerve and I'll tell you why in this post. Rather than giving you a detailed brief on how much exposure I had to bigotry and racial oppression in the various cultures I lived in, I will ask you to stop making assumptions. If you wish to pursue your " you, a christian" type of characterization of another individual, it will be clear to me that your original opening post contained another agenda than how it was presented. Agenda? Me? But seriously, have you ever been threatened to your face by one of these people? Told there was a bullet just waiting for the back of your head? Sent threatening letters? Had to change jobs and locations because of threats? Had glass bottles thrown at your house, luckily not breaking any windows. Been followed when you went shopping or running errands? May I ask you what type of anti racist and pro human rights activism you are involved in ? surely with the passion you seem to exhibit, have you joined groups who fight against white supremacist and extremist ideologies as well as support human rights throughout the world. Well here's my story Sabine, and I'll let you judge how well I stand up to bigotry. I'm not going to name any names however, because I value my privacy. I was working for a defense contractor in the mid-west. One of our subcontractors brought in several people as we were short handed. One of these individuals seemed very strange. He was always talking about various conspiracy theories, hated gays, atheists, jews, masons, racial minorities, etc. The list was long and threatening. I confronted the individual once, and he seemed to not do this for a while. We were developing a communications system for a couple of government agencies and he was supposed to go have his fingerprints taken, and a background investigation done. He always found excuses not to get this done. Then he announced one day he was taking a week off for a "church boot camp". He was gone for a little over a week and kept talking about the events at Waco which had happened about a year before. Well about two weeks later the Oklahoma City bombing occurred. Well, the rest of us at work, immediately thought of this guy. We told our site manager, who immediately called the US Attorney's office. We were immediately sent to the regional office of the US Attorney's office. They said they would investigate. Within a week, he and a couple of other subcontractors were removed from our office. I guess the subcontractor had to place them elsewhere. We never learned what they found. Well, later a couple of us started receiving threatening letters in the mail, phone calls, and cars following us around. It was very scary. I started looking for a job in another area as it seemed prudent, and our contract work was starting to slow down. If this situation had not occurred, I would not have moved since there was work in the area. The only ones who were harrassed were the non-christians in the office and one catholic person of Polish descent. I found a new job in a different area. I work for a large corporation now, and serve in our Diversity Council. I regret that you are offended by my attitude Sabine. But perhaps now you can see where I'm coming from. The individual in the office was not a nazi, simply went to a far right christian church. But you could add nazi symbolism or a uniform, and it would have gone with what he was saying. How am I off topic? I have simply been responding to what you have said. |

Hi Rad
A far better approach to child raising is to teach them that only sin is worthless, while they themselves are of infinite intrinsic worth. Any other approach borders on the irresponsible and teaches them irresponsibility. As soon as you judge a child strictly by their actions, you have pretty well doomed them. I guess this is one of the few times that we agree on something. |

Hi Everybody
Thanks for the replies. I guess there isn't really anything that distinguishes modern nazism from extreme far-right christianity. Oh and it is bollocks not bullocks for the English version of "balls". I think a bullock is a bovine trained to pull a cart or some such. |
