Amen, brother. Keep a sharp eye on who the candidates are in local and state elections. And especially State Board of Education positions. The creationists/IDers are definitely politically savvy and very determined. Work for candidates who will support science, not those who are beholden to their church's salvation agendas.

Pre-millennialists or post-millennialists, I can't remember which, are determined to bring the Kingdom of Heaven into being on Earth, so Jesus can come back and suck the righteous up into Heaven. That is one reason they are so determined to push their religious ideas into public schools -- as science.

Watch them like a hawk. Get out the vote for pro-science candidates. Get out the word about what anti-science candidates stand for. They are not doing it to serve "the people." They're doing it to serve "their people."

Activate!

Maybe all those creationists are just sick to death of homeschooling and paying for private schools for their kids and just want us evilutionists to be forced to do it for awhile.

Hey, fair's fair!

This of course has nothing to do with evolution/creation but I thought (being a former Christian with some knowledge) that I'd clarify for you some stuff - just FYI. Most Christians, no matter what their eschatological position want creationism/ID taught in schools. It's funny that the most pessimistic of all of the Christians (those who think the world is inexorably heading to hell until the rapture or the actual second coming of Christ) are the most fervent in their beliefs in getting ID taught in schools, even though they don't expect great results, whereas the more optimistic christians are less fervent. Anywho, Premilleniasts believe that the kingdom of God will come when Christ initiates the millenium after the reign and destruction of the anti-christ. They are the most fervent, but they are pessimistic about getting any real results, for the most part. It is theonomic postmillenniasts who believe that they are to "dominate" politics and so on. (Non-theonomic PM are different, but I don't have time now to go into the differences...) The funny thing is, that these people often times don't support the whole getting ID taught in public schools thing. See for example, this link:

<a href="http://www.razormouth.com/cgi-local/npublisher/viewnews.cgi?category=2&id=1020265746" target="_blank">Theonomic/Postmillennialist on ID in schools</a>

They really don't have much faith in public schools, period. Actually, the whole above site has a couple of interesting articles on ID. They are somewhat against it, but they are not evolutionists. They are presuppositionalists IIRC, so they believe we should trust the bible, no matter what science says.....

Anywho, just my rambling.....

Yeah. Here is another article, where the guy critiques ID because it doesn't go with the bible. He pretty says we should accept the six days on faith:

<a href="http://www.razormouth.com/cgi-local/npublisher/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1014102323" target="_blank">6 Days</a>

Here's a reply (on the same site from the same organization):

<a href="http://www.razormouth.com/cgi-local/npublisher/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1014187478" target="_blank">Lott's response</a>

And here's a response to that From another guy in the same organization....

<a href="http://www.razormouth.com/cgi-local/npublisher/viewnews.cgi?category=1&id=1014274014" target="_blank">response</a>

It's actually an interesting debate they have going on. You've have the one guy who is trying to reconcile science with the bible, and the other two who are pure fidiests.......
