Talking No Hope for Baptist Board believers

Here is an argument by "Helen" (not "SL")at the BB regarding creationism. These naive people are truly caught up in their own make believe world, and I am beginning to admit that there is no reasonable hope for them.

"I am a science editor. I have worked with both creationists and evolutionists. The quote you used is one of the most inaccurate and rabble-rousing I have read -- and it was posted a number of places. It is nothing more than a propaganda piece. It was written in ignorance and panders to ignorance. [At least she admits what she knows much about ]

Creation science has a set of Ph.D. and other scientists in its camp which do not grab for the press the way the popularizers do. They do solid work and are highly respected by those who know them in both camps [...sound of milk coming out of my nose!!].

Kurt Wise aside (and I know him personally), there are a number of young-creation scientists who are that way because of flat-out evidence. Many years ago, when I started teaching [scary thought], I taught what I had always been taught and believed was true: evolution. It was science itself which exposed evolution for the fraud it is and five years of reading [Ken Ham books] (from about ages 25-30) and numerous internal arguments and struggles ended up making a creationist out of me, and, from there, a young earth creationist.

If you are interested in the evidences, feel free to post on the creation/evolution board. In the meantime, please know that Talk Origins exists for the sole reason of propagandizing people ( huhh?) . Some of their material is total trash which -- even when shown that and requested to delete the relevant essays -- remains in their archives for people to continue being deceived by.[No.....that's what christian websites do....].

Again, all I can say is

Here is the thread it came from.

Go after her scigirl! (I've been banned again from BB)

I'd try posting myself but those assholes would censor it. They can't handle the truth.

They have already yanked the thread. Here is the note from the moderator:

has been deleted, is being edited, and will be appearing in the creation/evolution forum. Please go there for continuation.

Watching this thread develop made it clear that creation and evolution subjects still cannot be handled by many of the people posting here without insults and mocking. It is for this reason the creation/evolution board is set up for emailed posts only.

Thank you.

I was able to get a counterpoint to Helen's BS in before they deleted it, though. We'll see if it survives. IIRC the harshest word I used was "baloney".

"Science editor"??? Gesnort! She polished up the prose of her hubby's astronomical fantasies. A legend in her own mind.

What's sad is that she's about the best that BB can scrape up.

It is usless to argue with that kind of Christians they just can't accept anything wrong with their beliefs. They don't have any kind of truth just a moral bias.

I gave up arguing with them long ago. What they think is simply irrelevant to what I think.

It is useless to argue with them, I agree (although it can be fun if done for one's own personal amusement). However, the scary thing is that they would like to start teaching "creation science"....to our children....in the public schools...that is why we can't afford to just turn our backs on them and ignore them completely.

I agree!!! That's why I bother to waste my time looking at what they say (other than for amusement purposes).

I'm going to put this on a T-shirt and wear it to the next outdoor church function my wife drags me to! (...and maybe a little Darwin fish humping a Jesus fish on the front pocket. )

Is it any wonder people call in to question the "fallibility" of the bible?!

No WONDER Josephus was pissed! These geeks are always adding and changing things to suit their own purposes.
