Yes, that's exactly what happened. The Conspiracy does these things all the time. For instance, do you remember hearing that South Carolina recently seceeded from the union a second time, fought another bloody civil war in which hundreds of thousands were killed, and has since been under martial law with its leaders held in Dubya's prison camps? Of course not. The fact that you never heard of it is proof of their massive, on going cover-up.

NASA cover-up or not, this should set you thinking.

What is the motive for NASA covering it up. If they really found artifacts on Mars they could look forward to a solid funding line for the forseeable future. I might believe they err towards proposing evidence of life that is a bit tenuous, but that they cover up evidence of intelligent life is hard to believe. That they could do it successfully stretches plausibility to breaking point.

Strange how their cover ups (this, fake moon landing) are all just good enough to fool the scientists who study the data but not quite good enough to fool the average joe in Hoboken.

I believe they have evidence of intelligent design, but are covering that up too!
