Making excuses for God
Now Sunday church services are over I am sure there was a lot of prayers going out to those who were killed and displaced by the recent volcanic eruption in Africa. This, volcanic eruption however was a so called "act of God", so I am sure many of these clergyman were really struggling to explain this catastrophe when their God is supposedly so kind and all forgiving.
So they just make excuses for God. In a bizarre twist they may tell everyone this is God way of showing He cares. It is all a part of God great plan. Or they may be a bit more punitive and state "God is punishing wickedness" like in Sodom and Gomorrha. If so why did not God punish those who were planning to destroy the WTC before it happened. It is as though they believe the concept of good and evil is built into the natural world. I personally believe good and evil is not built into the natural world. The forces of nature are totally indifferent to our existence and it could of just as easily happened on a remote volcano in Alaska at it could happen in a heavily populated part of Japan. My advice do not live near dangerous dormant volcanos and believe Gods hands will protect you buy praying every day for it not to happen. It will sure save making excuses for God when the unthinkable does happen. crocodile deathroll |

Believing in this kind of stuff is either severe ignorance or clinical insanity.

Have you ever noticed that if something good happens like bringing the astronauts back alive in apollo 13, many thiests tend to give God the credit, but if some bad like the challenger disaster then thiests are busy making excuses for Him.
