One of my own favorite non sequiturs is that "coelacanths haven't changed in 60 million years so that disproves evolution!" It's wrong on so many different levels but it keeps popping up, over and over. In fact that was the discussion that originally drew me into this forum.

I just heard something along the lines of "The DNA molecule can cause negative effects if it comes in contact with genetically engineered food"...

Assuming long ages for radioactive half-lives, then using them to prove long ages.
"Well, who was there to write down the original amount of radiation? Did you actually see it decay??"

I always love arguments like that. So intelligent and well thought-out.

Recentally, on the Baptist Board A_Christian posted this:

Yes, I attended college.

Bob Jones University is a wonderful school and
yet isn't accedited (to my knowledge). They don't want the government telling them what to teach and how to teach.
Does that qualify?

Lets see,
On CF recently someone actually used the "Jellyfish and clouds are both 95% water, so they must be related right"

But, ok, I have a current favorite,

"I have studied and researched the evidence on both sides and believe creationism is Correct."

It makes them sound all smart, till you realize, there Is No evidence for creationism. And they just got dupped by con artists.

In a conversation with a YEC, she asserted, more than once, that if there is only 2 probabilities (for example, there is life after death, or there is not life after death) that each one has a 50% chance. Like a coin toss I guess.

Geez! You missed your chance! Tell her that a roll of a single dice - a die - has just two possibilities: Either it'll come up "1" or it won't. Bet her even money on the outcome and take "it won't." You'll clean up!

Oh oh! I got one.

One time a guy told me that on his death bed, Siddhartha Guatama (Buddha), asked Christ for forgiveness.

Boy the look on his face when I told him The Buddha was born well before Jesus.

You liar, how could Buddha have been born before Jesus because Jesus is the Creator of ALL!
