This question was inspired by some of the comments made on the thread, How ignorant are (American) people?

What is most ignorant or absurd statement relating to science that you, personally, have ever heard?

Off-topic, just as a personal note, love your weather, but could you maybe give the mosquitoes a rest this year? Done that.

Are we allowed to include things that children invent to explain the world, or are we stuck with claims by adults who are serious about things?

Recently the best one was,

The earth cant be as old as we say, because it should have been hit by a Super Nova already.

Although the guy seems more like a troll than serious. But I still found it funny.

I'll go with "You can�t tell the age of a tree by it�s rings. The tree doesn�t know how long a year is" for $1000, Alex.

From a fundy on another board just the other day: Einstein showed space is curved, so the starlight could short-cut those billions of miles in just 6000 yrs.

This is the same person that maintains the broken vitamin C and urate oxidase genes are evidence of a common designer and evidence AGAINST common descent.
