Post Atheists are just as mindless as theists...

I've been reading all the Christian stereotyping/bashing and "I'm more Atheist than you" talk on this board for a while while laughing my ass off. Hardcore atheism is just another place for people without friends to bond. Aside from the fact that you don't believe in a god (which is YOUR opinion), I'd bet the ranch that the majority of you are NOT "free thinkers". You're really no different than the Christians who you rip on.

-You probably follow doctors who prescribe whack ass medications (that you never saw) that only help pharmaceutical companies profits. If only you knew half the side effects on these new drugs coming out.

-You probably follow school systems who make college look like the best place to learn. For the record, I learned 10 times more on my own then I ever did in my 5 years of College. All they do is teach you how to THINK. Again let me put a bold on the word THINK.

-You probably follow whack ass political leaders who really have ulterior motives for war. Remember Desert Storm?...all about the money.

-If you're younger you probably get all you morals from MTV. What the fuck does Britney Spear know?

-You probably listen to the mainsteam music that that your aetheists friends listen to. I listen to whatever the fuck I want. I even got ripped on in high school (early 90's) for listening to what was then alternative.

-You probably dress like all your aetheist friends do.

-You probably act the same way all your aetheist friends do.

-You probably focus on nothing, but money.

Only difference is that you don't believe in a god and they do, oh no. Wait I guess I'd be sterotyping you just like you do Christians. Oops, my bad. I know instead of trying to help the world not believe in something you don't BELIEVE in, how about you focus on changing a problem you can SEE.

True, as a christian myself, I'll admit that there are some fucking idiotic messed in the head religious leaders. So what? You think they are the only people who try to control others?
THINK again.

Perry

Wow, beyond the fact that you don't know how to spell 'atheist'...

"-You probably dress like all your aetheist friends do."
Oh yah, you bet I do. Hell, you know that all people who share a philosophical concept dress alike. Especially those solipsists. You can see a pack of them from a mile away.

"-You probably focus on nothing, but money."
Exaaactly..money..yah. Actually, I'd think most people on this board would be more concerned with knowledge and wisdom than with money. But no, really, we post on here because we have some hidden economic goal.

The rest of your post was equally stupid. Clearly, however you learned to "THINK" involved a whole lot of paint chips.

Dear Perry,
I'm an atheist, not Aetheist. I want to spread the good news to you:

God is the only childhood myth carried over into adulthood..

Thumbs down

Your persistent misspelling of "atheist" amidst your bitter claims of self-education just reeks of Troll, by Jebus Klein.

On the other hand, if you are a real "christion," (sic) Perry, I think you need to address your very un-christlike rage issues. We're not in your temple changing money or selling hookers, so spare us the indignant temper tantrum.

What exactly did you hope to achieve by this post?

I want QOS to confirm the stereotype of atheists you have constructed in your mind by making a mockery of you and your 'claims'.

If you want intelligent and polite debate about an issue such as the existence of god I will be happy to provide it (maybe 'intelligent' is a bit of a stretch but anyway...)

Send this to the Lion's Den is my vote, anyhow.

Ouch, a troll has popped up. I couldnt stop laughing at this post, but hey, its good to be entertained.

I've actually never taken any sort of medication, save a few headache pills once in while, mostly after reading a post like this. But if I did, there is PLENTY of data all over the place on the effects of drugs. If its something new that hasnt been tested, it recieves the correct dose of skepticisim. And are not drug companies required to list all the side effects in ads now? Seems like it with all the talk of 'side effects' on TV lately.

Heh, I ditched college to follow my own plan for learning the computer field. And although I am far FAR ahead of other students who did go to college in my year, I still cant get a proper job in the field. Why? Its all about the paper. Hard lesson for me to learn, but here I am, trying to get back into school. You wont catch me saying the system works though, at least for many topics. They are much better for areas like the sciences.

Um... ok. I'm confused. This makes no sense. I dont follow anyone anywhere unless I completely agree with them. And didnt the hardcore christian Bush Sr. start desert storm anyways? Why would I agree with that nut?

How to make money from stupid kids. Wait, her managers know that. She knows how to dance.

Aww. Your so troubled. Music is music. If it has any desirable attribute, and is not corprate-produced mish, its good in my book. Take punk for example. Much better than alternative, even when it was still alternative. Its about real stuff.

Quote:
-You probably dress like all your aetheist friends do.
I dress myself thank you. I think clothing is largely something christian thought has twisted into something its not though. Its a way to decorate and keep warm. WTF is with using it to hide our skin?

Quote:
-You probably act the same way all your aetheist friends do.
Yea Probably. We all go eat babies every night.

Quote:
-You probably focus on nothing, but money.
I focus on doing a good job, because that makes me proud of my abilities. Money is one of the results of this. Money is incentive to do something for someone else. Nothing else, really.

Done and done. Unfortunately christianity is at the root of much of what is wrong with NA society. Its gonna take some work...

No. You dont say...

Well when stereotypes are constantly being perpetuated it's easier to be bashed for it.

First of all, the word is Atheist. If you're going to insult us, at least spell it right. Secondly, the last time I checked people are free to have philosophical debates even within their own belief group. And I'm glad you were laughing your ass off, now you know how we feel reading your mindless drivel.

Atheism is not a place, it's a belief system (or rather a "lack of belief" system). This bulletin board is a place, and many of us gather here for a common purpose. Just what does this have to do with the price of eggs in Russia?

Many "hardcore atheists" are this way, yes. I happen to find them just as annoying as fundamentalist Christians. The last time I checked, this was a pretty diverse group, why don't you get to know individuals and then make your decision. I still have tons of Christian friends. I also have Jewish friends, and black friends, and gay friends (gasp!). All generalizations are bad, including this one.

I obtain multiple opinions about medications I take, when I have to take them at all. I'd love it if everyone in the world could get free medicine when they needed it, but then we'd have an evil commie bastard system wouldn't we? Besides, taking medication seems to have better results than praying to the LAWD. I wonder why

NEWSFLASH!!! That's the whole friggen' POINT! You're supposed to learn throughout your entire life. College merely trains you for that. I'm sorry you don't want people to know how to think, but luckily I live in a country founded on those oh-so non-religious principles that allow me to not listen to a fucking word you're saying.

Are you implying that most atheists are conservatives? Are you implying that we all blindly tow the party lines more so than the average population? You need to be thwacked on the head with a clue-by-four.

If you're younger and you're really an atheist (as opposed to an apatheist, which is what you seem to be confusing us with) you probably are intelligent enought to derive your moral system from appropriate cultural sources. OTOH, if you're a younger Christian, you probably obtain your morals from a sky god who sent his son down to the earth to make war and bring a sword and tell us how to properly beat our slaves.

Guess what, I listen to mainstream music. I also listen to country. I also listen to classical and jazz. I also listen to a Christian rock group called Third Day. I guess you can stop generalizing now, you've reached a brick wall. Now bang your head up against it repeatedly, and you'll know how I feel reading your post.

I dress like my Christian friends do, conservative. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't have casual sex, I don't do drugs, and I don't break the law. I'm a college student, I have no money. I realized this, so I got rid of my 2001 Mustang GT which was my dream car and bought a Saturn because the car payment was affecting my priorities. Looks like you just hit another brick wall, dickhead.

THINK again.
After reading this piece of intellectual excretia, I'm of the opinion that you don't need to be telling me how to think.

Go Away.

P.S. Someone move this thread to RR&P, it shouldn't be polluting this forum.

Are you not taking your medications?

-You probably follow school systems who make college look like the best place to learn. For the record, I learned 10 times more on my own then I ever did in my 5 years of College. All they do is teach you how to THINK. Again let me put a bold on the word THINK.

I study philosophy and am teaching myself to read ancient Greek, all without taking college classes.

-You probably follow whack ass political leaders who really have alterior motives for war. Remember Desert Storm?...all about the money.

I lean heavily towards military non-interventionism. I opposed Desert Storm.

-If you're younger you probably get all you morals from MTV. What the fuck does Britney Spear know?

I get my morals from philosophy and good literature. Where do you get your manners from? K-Mart?

-You probably listen to the mainsteam music that that your aetheists friends listen to. I listen to whatever the fuck I want. I even got ripped on in high school (early 90's) for listening to what was then alternative.

I haven't the foggiest clue what music other atheists listen to. I listen to what I like.

-You probably dress like all your aetheist friends do.

I dress as I prefer. I don't think there is any such thing as an atheist dress style anyway.

-You probably act the same way all your aetheist friends do.

Better than engaging my mouth before engaging my brain, which is what you are doing.

-You probably focus on nothing, but money.

Please, oh amazing psychic, don't tell me you are only guessing what we are like!

Moron.
