Post Vampire Bat Molars

I don't recall if the following has been in any
of the long lists of silly designs in nature.
Quote:
...It's easy to see
that the molars of vampire bats are non-functional: they are obviously molars,
yet they don't perform the one function that molars tend to have; they don't
chew anything. And they don't seem to do anything else, either. So the
conclusion is that they are non-functional....

Silly heathen! Before the Fall, vampire bats used their molars to chew up plants. They didn't become blood-drinkers until after the Fall.

Incidentally, the link doesn't seem to be working.

Cheers,

In fairness, I heard somewhere that vampire bats are not exclusive bloodsuckers, unlike the Discovery Institute.

(bam!)

Whether or not you need molars to eat bugs, I have no idea, just as I have no idea if my info is correct since I don't have time to google at the moment...

It would depend on whether you chew them or swallow them whole.

Either your browser is not correctly configured to read newsgroups or your ISP does not provide you a Usenet feed or does not provide talk.origins in particular. The link I provided was not to the world wide web. You can always search for that message id at groups.google.com
