Right. And it wasn't just 'cause they called the prophet 'baldy', but because in so doing they were in effect saying that god doesn't run the block. God, in his infinite wisdom (a la Tony Soprano) just arranged for a little 'accident' to remind everyone that he does, in fact, run the block. As fairy tales go it really is right up there with the Sopranos, I'd have to say. I find it a little disquieting that so many people have arranged their whole life around what could be a script for a TV show, but who am I to judge? The Supreme Master of the Universe? Well you'll just have to wait for that special day now, won't you?

I wonder if that Elisha story had been invented by some bald priest in order to discourage little children from teasing him about his baldness.
