Here's a better example. Was there a massacre in Jenin by Israeli troops last April? How many died - 70? 500?
There was an initial interview with one Abu Ali who claimed that his nine children had been killed. That story was reported around the world, with a lot of emotional impact. Later it turned out that they were all alive. (My only url to this is dead. It was in the LA Times June 16, referred to here.) Investigations failed to support the numbers claimed by the Palestinians. But if the Palestians won this war and got to write the history books, how many people do you think they would report died in Jenin? How many of Abu Ali's children? edited to add - Welcome back Rodahi! [ July 04, 2002: Message edited by: Toto ]
|

Virgin Birth? Easily added after the fact, a la Matthew and Luke. Wise while young? HeartBreak Hotel, 'Nuff said. Worked miracles? He could have just about any girl he wanted - any guy I know who could do that would consider his power divine. Rose from the dead? See above. For God so loved rock, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever loveth his songs shall not tire, but have everlasting dance. (Rewritten John 3:16) |

There is far more than just discrepancies between accounts to doubt the accounts. Archaelogcial findings in Gallilee do not support biblical accounts of Jesus, and make it fairly factual that some of them are the product of their writers' minds, and not historical truth.
