Is it fair?(note to xians)
Is it fair that a father pushes his child into the
mud,and for him to pick him back up-the child needs to say "sorry"? Is it fair that we have to repent for being born sinners(exactly how god planned?)Or should we be thank full he(god) flexed his muscles to keep his flock of sheep(us) inline (jesus)? <img src="confused.gif" border="0"> |

What I'm asking is that the few xians out there should take a step back from the bible and think about god's ethics with what he knew and made the world to be! Have we xians been wrong all these years? surely if god wants me, no.. predestined me to be with him, he'll help me understand these thoughts?(either through you people or himself).
I need help understanding this and am not afraid to admit it. |

Says he is sorry? For 90 some percent of humanity he makes crispy critters of them for eternity. He gives them a sinful nature and then punishes them for it. Why would a humane person need hepl with this? Here is all the help you need. It is bullshit! <img src="graemlins/boohoo.gif" border="0" alt="[Boo Hoo]" />

This is based on a very simplistic, and probably wrong, interpretation of the Christian faith. Enough of the premises are not the premises used by the Christian faith that an answer to your question has essentially no relevance to the Christian faith.
The stuff you see in Chick tracts, etcetera, is not a very good representation of the faith; indeed, most evangelists seem to be pretty bad at telling the story. Have you ever known anyone who *never* did anything morally questionable? Never even got tired and let a good act go undone? I haven't. So... I'm willing to accept the premise that all people are imperfect. Not because we're "made badly", but because freedom implies more than one possible outcome. Given that, it seems that it would be nice if there were some way for our failings to be made up for. Conveniently, there is. |

hey, God (apparently) knew the outcome of Eden (and all the falls throughout humanity),so why does he command all those terrrible things in the o.t? Fact is, he planned our fall, he planned to send jesus so we would be put on a guilt trip:
Quote:
Come on, He knew we would be born sinners so we would have to ask for his forgivness. Is it fair that he pushed us down, and to be picked back up we need to say "sorry"-for what? Being what he made us? maybe the sinners prayer should be: dear god, Please forgive me for being what you made me to be, I am a dirty sinner thanks to you- and I apologize for that. Yes lord I am truely ashamed that you planned for this guilt trip crap you lay on us all-AMEN [ June 03, 2002: Message edited by: ax ]</p> |

OH, and where are all the christians with the answers? its like jesus spending his life saying "god is good, praise be to god, ex-cetera"
then when he's on the cross and reality sets in he cries " father, why have you forsaken me!!". You were right schu-bullshit even within itself. Maybe there is no answer, its funny though, at night I cry out to god for proof, I say "I thought we had a relationship all these years- do not abandon me!". and the response?- f*** all. *spit*. Where is my god now?! I though he predestined me to be with him, (well god I'm open to a response, yep-anytime now,). I can't believe I was so blind all these years. I appologize to all who I have responded to with positive christianity thoughts. But, I still put the challenge out to all xians who think they can put mymind at rest!! So little faith and patience! Some day you`ll die and then spend an eternity with your god. You`ll be right there with the rest of the freaks groveling at his feet while you give him glory. Lucky you!
Better hope you die wearing knee pads. <end of sarcasm> Glad to see you`ve decided to join reality. |
