There is no conclusive evidence for Mark's empty tomb story.
My Essay Lowder's essay Carrier's essay touches upon the subject See also Peter Carnley in The Structure of Resurrection Belief and Gerd Theissen in The Historical Jesus: A Comprehensive Guide for Christian perspectives on the (lack of) historical evidence for the resurrection narratives. For the opposing view, the best I've read is Craig's Assessing the New Testament Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus, to which I and Jeff have responded on a major point. There is also a forthcoming book Jesus is Dead with contributions from Carrier, me, and others. best, Peter Kirby |

Thanks Peter
Wow. You jumped all over that one. As soon as I put it up I went to edit it and could not touch it for access violation reasons, wasn't sure what happened at first bu apparently you were already responding while I was trying to edit and was "locked" from the thread. Anyway, thanks for the info. This is a very important subject. Cuts right to the chase for me
