Post Math Challenge for Douglas

Douglas,

You like math, right? How would you like to work through with me some of the classical mathematics in evolutionary biology? I would be happy to go over such topics as Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, the classical selection theory, migration, genetic drift, etc.

Thumbs up

The mathematics of evolution is of general interest to this forum and often misrepresented/misunderstood by creationists; please do us the favor of presenting the topic even if Douglas does not accept your offer.

Thanks, Rick

Sounds great Rufus. Not to claim I'll actually be able to FOLLOW the math, but it'd be pretty good to see what you mean.

As a precursor to the raw stuff, here is a great site that goes over the hard science of evolutionary computing.

Everything you've ever wanted to know about GA. A lot of the sites linked to from it even have example Java programs that you can play with, if your arent up to speed on C++.
