Back in 1985, there was a force 5 hurricane that the weather service said was going to have a landfall in the middle of Virginia Beach (Pat Robertson�s hometown). Most of Va Beach was evacuated, and everyone expected lots of storm damage.

When the eye was about 50 miles off shore, it suddenly veered north, eventually making a landfall in Long Island at Force 3. The next day, Pat Robertson announced that he had interceded with gawd to turn the hurricane.
