Not yet, but I'm quite certain that you wish that were the case.

No one had intimated that the staff is "all bad". The major complaint is the heavy-handed application of nebulous rules by some of them.

If there are sites we can't link to, then how about a list of them, so we don't run afoul of the "rules".

Since blasphemy is supposed to be against the rules, how about some limits that all the mods agree on and that can be shown to the posters. Remember that no everyone considers the same things "blasphemous".

The same thing goes for what constitutes "Christian-bashing". Not everyone has the same notions about what this means.

What about "trolling"? What's the standard. As I see it, Christians at CF make a lot of imflammatory remarks and NEVER get warned.

Corrupters?? If your religion is the paragon of truth and goodness that you claim then it would be impossible for anyone to "corrupt" it. The very fact that you use that accusation says to me that you know how weak your position is and that God's perfect word is an illusion that can only survive in a "no-questions-asked" vacuum. What you really want is a board where no one asks tough or embarrassing questions or points out the flaws.

I'm glad this happened, Inspired. When I heard what had happened I was sad for you. I've liked Bear but he doesn't like me. He and I got into it a while back over Clinton bashing. He just can't understand how to a lot of us who don't have that sex negative mindset the fact the dude got hummers in the oval office is more farcial and comical than an indication of evil. He is a good guy though.

I was actually trying to see what they'd do before I was banned when I made an avatar of a pic of Susan and Kelly from the first "Survivor". It wasn't suggestive at all but some wag described their relationship on that show as "crypto-lesbian" and I always thought that was hilarious. Several people PM'd me about it but all were non-fundies.

Well, you only defend against one at a time. The truth is the truth, isn't it?

But I take your point because the minute you show yourself willing to answer questions about what you believe, on IIDB, you'll probably get snowed under with questions. And if you don't have time to answer them some people may think that means you have no answers. But most people here accept that others have time constraints. The thing is, they've seen lots of Christians come here eager to 'contend the faith' only to give up after a few days, never to be seen again. And it's not necessarily because anyone was rude to them. I think a lot of Christians don't 'sit down and count the cost before they start building the tower' as it were...

It changes the parameters, to be sure...but isn't it that way on the Apologetics board at CF? I mean, isn't it that way with the people you defend the faith to there? After all, some of them are the same non-Christians who post on IIDB.

I suppose there's a range on the CF Apologetics board(s) from people who don't recognize the Bible as having anything worthwhile to say, to those who give it some credence, to those who believe it all to be the Word of God.

I responed asking what changed from yesterday, because yesterday when I learned my account was reopened I specifically asked about my avatar and was told there was no reason to change it, and nothing wrong with it.
And second asked what part of rule 4 I violated, rule 4 has no mention of homosexuality, if I had posted a pic of a boy baby and a girl baby holding hands would that make you think of sex?
If a cartoon pic of two babies holding hands makes you think of sex, you need to seek some serious help.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have read back over most of my participation in this thread, and I think that the most I have ever said is that the moderation on CF could be more mature/professional and discussion could benefit from being more open. I still think that is the case in many instances.

I for one am sorry that anyone was hurt reading this thread, but many people have felt that CF was unfair to them.

I'm sorry that you think I am a poor Christian and that I don't belong in your fellowship. It doesn't surprise me though. I hope you feel better now that you've spoken your heart on this matter.

Hope you and yours have a nice day--although I think you'd be better off if you refrained from participating in this thread if it makes you feel so badly. IMO.

If people have been hurt because of this thread, it was probably because it hit a little to close to home.

Second yes, I was banned, but now I'm not, who knows tomorrow.

Third, I have never tried to give myself meaning by demeaning someone else.

Fourth, smack talkin, involves things that aren't true.

Finally, feel better soon.

There are posts on this thread that ridicule and insult people at CF. Ridicule and insults tend to hurt people whether they are true or not.
