Questions
I dont usually like posting on bb and such but I have been observing a few VERY predictable patterns on here...
You people treat anyone unlike yourselves like total sh!t. yes it's true... anyone on here who dosent agree with your disbelief is called a fundie or something stupidly similar... why is that? i have read several whining post complaining about how you are discriminated against and how you are the last group in america that its ok to to get harassed etc. but then you turn around and when you get a visitor here who dosent agree with you you ridicule them and belittle them to no end. Are you insecure about your non faith or do you just like to make people feel like crap? Yes I know most religious people are blind and they dont want to argue or hear what you call the "truth". So I understand the frustration... however if you are wondering why many people consider atheists to be mongrels(harsh term, I know, but I am very aware of the crap that people go through) consider how you treat someone different than you when they come here. At least when you go to a christian board to disagree they treat you with respect. yeah they might be wrong and stupid but they make you feel welcome and there is little to no condescending taking place. here is totally different. You are sarcastic, rude and ignorant sounding. When someone says "evolution is false" you say... "what an idiot!! hahah he's so stupid... man WE'RE so MUCH SMARTER!" think I'm bullshitting? its true, check your forums. very rarely(although it does happen) are there intelligent debate where rebuttle and conversation take place. i dont agree with christians but at least when I go on there boards and read what they say to atheist, they sound kind and welcoming, abeit sometimes naive. do you really wonder why 80% of america considers themselves christian? because christ is synonomous with love and care. (at least according to the vast majority of people.)obviously not to you. but thats not what I'm here to talk about. You are doing yourselves a disservice by being so rude and uncaring in your tone of voice. Obviously you are here to at least attempt to convert people to atheism. oh and to the 90% of you who just laughed and said WHATEVER! let me spell it out for ya... why else have a website and a forum to post your ideas for all to see.... why have email addresses that end in skeptic.org freethinker.org etc. why? because you want the world to know about the wonderful world that you live in. why buy shirts that have that stupid ass darwin fish on em? same reason christians buy shirts with crosses etc. Because you want to advertise just like christians and other fundies. How ironic indeed. Symbols like the darwin fish just scream immaturity. its like "oh yeah?" well WE'RE gonna piss you off now with this offensive symbol hah! ANYONE who wears their religion(or nonreligion) on thier sleeve is full of shit, hands down. If you really believe what you say you do, theres no reason to advertise to everyone else about it. you say you dont advertise? do me a favour... use those two things between your head called your eyes, and look in the upwards direction to the top of the page. ahh! I see three banners... lets see here...a website devoted to secular merch(interesting)another site for hereticards(cute), and lo and behold only one site for a product of personal use. I realize that there are tons of atheists who are respectful and courteous... why dont they post on this board? I know they are out there because I have met a lot. So here you are now... peeved and ready to write back with scathing rhetoric and sarcastic drivel. Oh and I realize that I have been sarcastic and condescending... however I dont subscribe to any particular group as you do. I am in a period of my life where I am searching for answers, and let me tell you briefly what I have found. Christianity is full of odd things that I dont agree with. However, I notice that at its core(it's VERY core) it is simply moral guidlines and direction. surprisingly not unlike wicca and satanism. Actually for any faults put aside, the bible is a fascinating book. full of pretty good advice that I feel can still apply today. and very few can argue that the chraracter of jesus was pretty radical for his time. beyond that... god etc. I dont know.... I sure do see your points as to how it sure is hard in this day and age to see the effects of god. so that simply requires more searching on my part. As for atheism, it appeals to me because of the deep thought processes that go along with it. I find deep discussions fascinating and captivating. however the attitude of many atheists is god awful(no pun intended)and rude and I dont want to be associated with people like that. so thats my dillema... I'm thinking of taking up buddism. Read into it if you havent. Deity not included! heh human beings have an inbred desire for faith. that is a fact no one can dispute. even the most hardore atheist has faith in something(money, love, self, family) So I feel there is little debate on that, but I'm sure someone will find something somewhere to dispute it. thanks for taking the time to read this post. I look foward to a sarcastic free conversation! I will from now on if you will! |

This really isn't the appropriate forum for this... in fact, it mostly seems like an RRP post.

Oh, we wouldn't remove it. But it definitely does not belong in Existence of God. I don't think it quite makes it to Rants, Raves & Preaching, so I guess it's off to Misc Discussions. Don't worry, you'll still get plenty of responses there.
