Default God's diary

Day No. 356,876,098,788,471
Dear diary,
Checked out Africa: Things are pretty bad. Tribal wars, famine, plague, persecution. Millions of children are suffering horribly and dying agonizing deaths. Decided not to get involved.

Switched over to America, Dallas Texas.. Cute little white girl has cancer. Family of Baptists praying their eyes out. Think I'll save the kid.

That wore me out. Going back into non-interventionist mode

Day No. 356,876,098,788,472
Dear diary:
Jeez, look at those floods in India. I'll bet a hundred thousand people get killed. Maybe I should do something. Nah, there are plenty more Indians. Besides, it's not like they’re Christians, so they're doomed anyway

Back to America: I see they're going off to war again. Not sure why, but look at all those "God Bless America" stickers and listen to 'em praying to me. That kind of sucking up should be rewarded. I’ll help them slaughter whoever they're gong after

Uh oh. Plane crash in Brazil. Think I'll rescue a couple of people and let the others burn to death. Then watch the survivors praise me for saving them. Man, this is a great gig.

(Not sure where this goes so I'll start at the top.)

Sorta reminds me of an old Pink Floyd song, Howard- "nearly a laugh, but really a cry."

Let's see how it fares in GRD.

Default set to thinking

When I think of all this stuff, it makes me believe we are not in GOD's care, but under our own command.

Remember the kid who wanted to grow up so fast, but complained bitterly when the time to do a hard day's work arrived...

What game are you playing Howard, commentator or complainer. If you are commenting then you seem to have the facts correct but seem to enjoy too much of the suffering like the kid who did not want to work but wanted all the freedoms working brings.

If you are playing the complaining game Howard, then if you believe you are part of GOD's hand then old friend go out and act like it.

Commentator. And I can't say I enjoy the suffering, but the part about me being the kid who wants his freedom without the work is pretty accurate.

If I were a part of God I wouldn't be his hands, I'd be his…well, I'll leave that to your imagination. .

My original post had nothing to do with me or my expectations of life. It was supposed to satirize the absurdity of glorifying a deity who (supposedly) effects the occasional "miraculous" cure, or rescues the odd individual, but let's millions suffer and die in the most horrible ways. I guess that didn't come across very well

Howard : It was supposed to satirize the absurdity of glorifying a deity who (and let me interject at this point) organised the life force for all to have a taste of reality, for all to manage their own affairs, for all those who complain that the GOD is holding their hands too much, (now you can continue) effects the occasional "miraculous" cure (government), or rescues the odd individual (army, police, ambulance), but let's millions suffer and die (the great unwashed poor) in the most horrible ways (neglect, starvation, ripping them off, stealing their natural resources). I guess that didn't come across very well (my turn)neither will this my old friend.

NO wonder they turn to absurd glorification of the invisible life source. They cannot get any satisfaction from those who want to play GOD, but ain't gat a clue how.
