Post Can you believe in the supernatural without being religious?

Is it possible to believe in the unseen without having to believe in the Deified?

Yes it is. The problem is that as far as I can tell one would not be justified in doing so. There seems to be a lack of evidence in favor of the supernatural. (Don't ask me to justify this because I really don't feel like arguing about it. If you think that there is good evidence for it then good for you I hope you are right. Just don't bother me with it.)

Sure, why not? You can believe in immaterial beings without necessarily having to believe that one of them created the Universe. I passed through this stage on my way from theism to atheism, in fact. I accepted the notion of the soul without attaching any particular religious belief to it. Then I read a bit more about neurology.

The opposite is also true. For example, Albert Einstein said he was "a deeply religious man", but he did not believe in the supernatural; the natural universe was his focus of religious feeling.

My friend of 16 years couldn`t give a rats ass about Jesus and other religious crap, but he does believe ghosts and spirits are real.

We go around in circles about this for hours whenever he comes over here and it bothers me that these alledged ghosts people see are always wearing clothes. It`s one thing to try and figure out how a spirit or whatever can take the form of a body, but how the hell does it produce the clothes?

I contend that if ghosts really exist then they would be naked when we see them. We`re going on 5 years now and my friend has yet to produce a single photograph or documented case involving a nude ghost.
