Quick Thought on Adam and Eve
In everybody's favorite creation myth, God punishes the Snake (Satan) for his deception by taking away his legs so he'll be forced to slither in the dust. However, since this snake is Satan, and presumably, the former angel Satan was not a snake to begin with, God curses a whole species because the devil decided to take their form in order to tempt Adam and Eve. So, rather then punishing Satan, He simply damns all snakes, who had nothing at all to do with the temptation.
Forget Eve, whom at least was of her own species and presumably responsible for her actions in representation. Forget Adam. The true injustice was the eternal humiliation of a totally innocent species. What's that about God being a "Just and Merciful" God? |

As far as I know, the snake isn't supposed to be Satan.
And doesn't this belong in EoG or MRD? This isn't exactly what I'd call philosophy. |

I'm gonna move this to Miscellaneous Religious Discussions. It should get better response there.

Sorry, I was looking at both this and the religion forum when I was posting...and I accidentally posted it here.
Beg forgiveness. |
