a little help?
I know this may be a repeat, so just direct me to the relevent post or site or whatever and i would appreciate it.
for the second time i have run across an email that tells a story about a little girl with atheist parents. the father shot the mother, and then himself, in front of the girl when she was young. the the story goes that the foster mother show a picture of jesus in sunday school and asked who he was. the little girl responded that he was the man who was holding the night her parents died. we are all supposed to get a tingle down our spine when we hear that I suppose. this sounds like a legend, has it been formally debunked/discussed anywhere? thanks |

I see while I was searching that Clarice has posted the snopes link. Here's a thread in the RRP forum:

thanks folks
a woman had the nerve to email this at work and started her email with "a words to meditate on" I really hate it when someone presents an obviously stupid or childish story as something really profound there are a lot of non christians as well as people like me who were offended and let her have it, not to mention using work email for such crap |

The person that painted the picture of Jesus the little girl saw must have had a remarkable stroke of luck to guess what Jesus looked like in the absence of any records to such a degree of precision that the girl could identify him. Perhaps the police should employ him as a psychic police artist.

No, no, no. Don't you see? Jebus correctly (of course) foresaw that the little girl would be delivered to that particular set of Christian foster parents and sent to that particular church, so He took the form of the Jebus in that particular picture.
That's why He allowed the thing to happen in the first place. A wonderful piece of glurge was created for the low, low cost of two dead atheists and one permanently traumatized little girl. A bargain! |

What do the atheist parents have to do with anything? Most parents in the news these days that snuff their kids are Christians!
