Actually the newsgroup could very well be targetted either by the key word "talk.origins" or by the system knowing what newsgroup it is in. I am not saying that it has happened, but it not beyond the range of possiblity.

Still the dictionary.com is clearly a keyword thing since that is about the only way to do it.

It might also be possible that people with some kind
of spyware in their computer that tells the web sites
things about the browser so ads could be picked for
the person but I have seen no reason to suspect
this in the sites I have used. Though it will certainly
will happen.

That's because talk.origins doesn't sucker people into giving them free money.

I think we should get together and buy an evolution ad on Google for the keywords "creation" and "Christianity".

Of course you know that would just insight articles by creationists about the Evil Evolutionists trying to warp our kids minds when they are looking for the truth.
