dictionary.com
It has been pointed out in the CSSSA forum (see here) that AIG and other creationist sites advertise heavily on dictionary.com.
This means that innocent schoolchildren who look up "evolution" have a good chance of reading an anti-evolutionist ad. Does talkorigins ever advertise? |

I just tried looking up the word evolution, and it does return several creationist advertisements.
Such is life, I guess. |

Oh the irony of creationists advertizing with a dictionary, when none of them have even read the dictionary. (Dictionary.com is not perfect, but it is better than any defination of "evolution" I've seen creationists offer.)

Just make a point about clicking those ads everytime you can. The advertisers have to pay for dictionary.com for each click, don't they...?

Of course everyone with a website can "advertize" for it by making a link to it. |

Well they obviously have ads according to the definition, which I guess makes sense, kinda funny they didn't advertise on the definition of god, I got ads for gnosticism, mythology, didn't see any christian links....

I think these websites (dictionary.com, google.com) offer to advertise based on certain keywords. So e.g. you're looking at the talk.origins newsgroup on google newsgroups and it sees that common words are "evolution", etc., and picks the appropriate ad blurbs.
Sorry if that was obvious to everyone, but awhile back some t.o.ers were complaining that the creos were specifically advertising on the google t.o. newsgroup display but it's probably just a keyword thang... |
