Now, if all of you can keep a straight face during the taping, you should pull at least an A-Minus.

critical thinking made ez
A tip of the hat to you. Your idea will get libertydude an "A+" or an expulsion and a trip straight to hell. Falwell has that power, don't you know. Just look what he made God do to Florida after we had 'gay day' at Disney. Falwell told God to smite us with Hurricanes. Unfortunately the hurricanes missed Orlando but beat hell out of other parts of the state. God's aim any worth a damn. |

Beachbum:
Wow, your not going to believe this but my son and his husband are headed for FL's Disney Land this coming weekend. They hate gay crowds so they'er going down now. Brace yourself for another small storm... I guess. PS on Libertydude. It was a bit of a balancing act but I think he could pull it off. Do you think the Fundie instructor will lick it up and give'em an "A"? I do! Seems libertydude is hard at work already...no time for a response. Hey, thanks for all the responses and yes, I have been busy. My group hasn't really got together yet cause things keep coming up and I have this feeling I'll be doing most of the work.
After reading the skeptics bible it looked like Amos saw god in his vision but according to people I asked, it was probably only jesus since no one has ever seen god according to other scriptures. That is supposidly what inerrant baptists believe. So far I'm going to teach that it was really jesus so I'll be in line with the teachers baptist beliefs. |

Conservatives like Falwell are constantly whining about liberal academia, yet the grading policy at his own school is weighted against how well assignments conform with the views of his instructors? What a hypocrite. |

Thats pretty much it hezekiahjones. All teachers here believe the same thing theologicly except on pointless small things that would make no difference to fundy baptists. They have to sign a statement of belief put out by the school ya know.
I don't suppose it's too much of a problem since it is only really an issue in bible and theology classes and students wouldn't come to this school if it wasn't in line with their, or their parents beliefs as the case is most often. The problem is when someone's beliefs change midstream (hint, hint) then one has to face the fact that in order to graduate, ya gotta put up with it. I can't wait till I graduate! I graduated from a Christian college called Azusa Pacific University (Go Cougars!) a few years back. One thing I learned there is it's just as important to learn the Professor as it is to learn the subject. |

I just find it amusing that Falwell is among the biggest critics of public schools and universities. I go to a public university, and I have submitted papers containing views with which my instructors have strongly disagreed. But that is irrelevant - papers are graded according to the quality of the research and the writing, the strength of the arguments, and whether the arguments address the topic at hand. As far as I'm concerned, that's the way it should be. It's something to keep in mind the next time Falwell starts mouthing off about the declining standards of education in the public sector. I wonder what the instructors at Liberty U would think about a bible crit paper that actually embraced the current mainstream in scholarship and archaeology, i.e., that the Exodus is a fairy tale, and that David and Solomon were practically mythical figures, part of a history invented from whole cloth for political purposes by the ancient Israelites. |

Libertydude
Stay in touch. Let us know how the project went. When do you graduate and what will your degree be in? Plans for later - the ministry? |
