Why should God care?
Look at what the believers say about their God.
He created the whole universe. So the creator and lord of all this wastes time by thinking about a single species on an insignificant planet, which he did not even bother to place in the centre of the galaxy, far less the universe? Don't the believers realize that while such thinking was ok in a geo-centred universe, the situation is different today? They make out their God to be so shallow that he gets bothered by what these inconsequential humans think about him? If I was a believer, I would be to have such a petty minded God. |

Learning more and more about the universe I live in, I came to the same point you have. I really couldn't agree more.
Ever have those days where it all seems so bloody obvious? Where you look around at all the believers and think "when are people going to wake up to themselves!?". - Youngest |

Well, since the xian God decided in his divine plan, long before any of us were born, that 90+% of his creations were going to hell, regardless of their actions on earth...
I've long since decided that I'd rather burn than worship it. Not to mention, I'd be in much better company in Hell. Wouldn't you love to meet Thomas Paine in person? Or Robert Ingersoll? [ March 02, 2002: Message edited by: Zero Angel ]</p> |

90+%?? You are being mighty generous!
It is more like 99.999999999999% of his creation going to hell... Not a very self worthy creator is it? |

just like the kid, the ants and the magnifying glass.
Its very simple. God takes pleasure in watching people burn. god made us in his own image, and as a species we're pretty sadistic. |

All of you are attaching human emotion to God. That is the first flaw in this whole argument. God-Universe does not have a human mind with human drives or will. God-Universe has absolutely no resemblance to a human being. Try to continue this argument after taking away the human aspects you have attached to God.
Where will the argument/discussion go then? |

OK blu, so that's all right then. Funny about all the anthropomorphic characteristics assigned to the deity in the OT.
If you accept that god-that-created-universe isn't like this, that makes a lot more sense. You do, of course, have to throw out all the xian stuff about being redeemed by the blood of jesus, etc., which are clearly connected to the wrong sort of deity. |

Funny how xians preach about having a "personal relationship with god," god's love, god's mercy, etc., but when one brings up the harshness of the real universe and how a loving god would have been more kind, the same people start accusing one of assigning human characteristics/emotions to god.
