I love to go to the cemetary where my cousin is buried at around 12, 1 in the morning and find a grave to lay on for a while. Fresh ones are best.

Maybe it's not creepy to me because my job is all about death and dying. I'm a visiting hospice nurse. I'm not afraid of death. I'm not going to know I'm dead anyway.
Death and dying isn't the creepy part. The creepy part is the dolled-up bodies in little boxes in the ground!

Ok, I admit that's a little creepy. If I were going to be buried in the ground I would want my headstone to say, "All dressed up and no place to go" lol

I want a spring loaded arm placed a few inches below the earth at my gravesight and whenever anything lighter than 90 pounds walks by (IE, children), the arm would pop out of the ground and start grabbing at things.

The idea of bodies decomposing and getting into water that I then drink kind of freaks me out (I don't think it happens that often, but the very idea.... ugh!)

I've been to a few cemetaries, when my grandparents were buried. Neither was very interesting. All the headstones in sight had names and birth and death dates, sometimes a cross. No personal touch, no little phrase on the headstone, not even a Bible verse.

I want to be cremated as well, but I haven't actually talked to my family about that, so who knows what they will feel?

(Actually, I think one of my favorite funeral customs is what the Vikings supposedly did for fallen leaders or kings... setting them in funeral boats with their weapons and funeral goods, and then setting the boats on fire with burning arrows. Unfortunately, since I am not a Viking warrior, I don't think I can have that kind of funeral ).

-Perchance.

Now that would freak me out! What if it malfunctioned at grabbed 120 pounds? No more lunches at the cemetery. I've always had an irrational fear of something grabbing me from under my bed! Too many horror movies?

Ah, suck it up. If I go into cemetaries at midnight to talk to the dead, I'm sure you can stand an arm grabbing at your ankle and pulling you into the cold abyss demanding YOUR IMMORTAL SOUL

I want to be fired from a trebuchet into the water from some cliffside.

Anyway, I can attest that New Orleans cemetaries are very enjoyable to walk through.

I went to New Orleans 2 years ago and visited several of the cemetaries. They were nice and all,but most were in really bad parts of town and I didn`t find them to be nearly as spooky as the cemetaries here in New England.

I think Swan Point cematary in Providence Rhode Island has them all beat. I have a lot of good memories of hanging out there with friends at night, but some moron had to ruin it for us by digging up H.P. Lovecraft.
We didn`t go there at night anymore after that figuring they would surely blame the Lovecraft desecration on the goth kids.

There are a lot of other cool historical cemetaries around here, but so many of them have been vandalized to the point where all that remain are piles of rubble. Kids can be such dicks.

I actually like cemetries, I find them really peaceful places where you can just be. When I go visit dad's grave, I sort of talk to him (as silly as it sounds) and tell him everything that's going on in my life, I've even asked his advice recently like I used to. I'd miss that opportunity if they weren't around.
