I personally believe there's a good chance this could be the case, but I'd like to see some sources.
Personally I'd like to see his references on Mithraism. Mithras according to the Roman cult was born of a rock BEFORE the creation of mankind (or any life for that matter). He struggled with the sacred bull which escaped from his cave. He then killed the bull and as he dragged it back to his cave the blood and semen of the bull caused life on earth to spring up. It has recently come under serious debate whether the Roman Mithras even had anything to do with the Zoroastrian minor deity Mitra. In any case none of the symbolism of Roman Mithraism has precedent in Zoroastrianism. And each has even less in common with Xianity.
