George Gilder and the DI
A long time ago, a friend lent me a copy of George Gilder's book "Microcosm". I remember being fascinated by his portrayal of the early days of the semiconductor industry. I was particularly impressed by how he was able to convey the excitement of scientific and technological progress.
Fast forward to this year and I find out he's involved in the Discovery Institute. Is this still true? What is his role there? How can someone so gifted at understanding science be such a buffoon when it comes to biology? |

In real life, George Gilder IS somewhat of a buffoon - I've taken a class co-taught by him. Just because he can write better than a lot a people doesn't make him particularly wise.
