Post Virgin Birth Observed in Sharks?

Remember that immortal invertebrate a few months back; well here is something that beats it:

Assuming that the good folks at Mutual of Omaha have not screwed up (or "farked" up -- saw this listed at <a href="http://www.fark.com" target="_blank">www.fark.com</a> ) this could make a very interesting event.

Maybe this should not super-surprising since parthenogenetic organism have evolved from non-parthenogenetic populations in several taxa.

That's seriously cool. I've been away for a while, so a lame pop-culture reference is an inauspicious way to return to the board, but. . .

Didn't this happen in Jurassic Park? They had only cloned female dinosaurs, but they somehow managed to reproduce. Right?

Yes, but that was because they inexplicably mixed in DNA from a frog capable of changing sex - some of the velociraptors became male.

There are several species of parthenogenetic lizards. In some of these species, there are no males known at all and thus there is no sex at all; the females basically clone themselves.
