Interesting, and it certainly raises the question why Jews (or anybody else for that matter) should have accepted Jesus in the first place.</strong>
Most Jews living at the time of Jesus of Nazareth rejected him because he didn't fill the messianic expectations of the Jews. The Messiah is expected to bring peace to the Earth forever and turn all people to the worship of Yahweh. Obviously, this didn't happen with Jesus, or any of the other self proclaimed Messiahs who came after him. Christians claim that Jesus is going to reappear at some point and bring peace to the Earth and turn all people to the worship of Yahweh. However, Jews reject this because a second coming of their Messiah was never part of the messianic expectations. Come to think of it...neither was a virgin born Messiah, a resurrected Messiah, a miracle working Messiah.

Also, I don't believe the Jews expected the messiah to be God himself?

Ah, correct. The Jews expected the Messiah to be fully human.

If the devil had any intelligence that is what he would do.

Still, NO. The false messiah can be discovered by the mark of the beast. I'm not Christian.
