ArvelJoffi, you beat me to it! I was going to say that Sonny the thread starter only contributed the first post. Drive by shooting, indeed!
(edited to correct misspelling of ArvelJoffi)

I've always been one to enjoy the great outdoors. There's nothing as nice as a beautiful sunrise or sunset. A full moon with a sky full of stars is a wonder to the eye. How about the four seasons with everything springing to life in the spring after a long winters nap and then growing and blossoming through the summer. And what a beautiful sight the changing of the leaves is.
With the number of replies, this post of mine is probably already too redundant.

It is amazing that theist could see the bright sun, clear water, beautiful flowers and etc. And yet they turn amazingly blind to the vast emptiness of space, the history of war and suffering, the multitiude of disease and etc.

Pascal said that using nature a proof of God's existence is a poor one. At the same time you can point out what is beautiful in the world, others could point out what is sad, bad and mad about this world.

Sonny and other theist should realize that the existence of God is based only on one thing: faith--the blind leap towards nothingness.

You could send this thread to his e-mail add.

You can't register on II any more unless you have a valid e-mail addy. Of course, that does not mean that his address is *still* valid.

So send him an e-mail with a copy of this thread. If it bounces, we ban him. If it doesn't, then maybe he reads it. Couldn't hurt!

As an example--my mother never hid from me in order to give me the 'choice' of whether to love her or not. The existence of my mother was something I never questioned, but that didn't 'force' me to love her. I loved her because of the way she treated me, and because she loved me.

That didn't remove free will--I could still have been a monstrous son and refused to love my mom.

Why the heck would a God need to hide from his creation? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

So Paul, you are just parroting a nonsensical argument that your priest told you, or that you heard from some other Christian, and you never even bothered to think it through.

I'm going to stick this line of reasoning in my pocket and use it on the next theist who trots out that arguement. Thanks, Kelly!

'Course, they'll just say that God is so super-duper-special fantastic, that if it showed itself, we'd have no choice but to love/obey it. But I'll have fun for the brief moment it takes 'em to reply.

Maybe he's ugly.

By the way, we can't e-mail Mr. Vacant Troll, he specified not to allow it.

But he isn't though, and I don't see how being God would change that.

On the other hand, if being a God can get me so much love, I wouldn't mind being one...and I'd do a lot better job than him!

My original assesment stands. I knew this guy was a troll in the second post on this thread. Am I psychic or is it the power of GAWD?

Unhappy Cowards...

Yeah, you would think that fundies, with their strong faith and strength from God and all, might be able to last against us a little longer.

Don't they borrow strength from God? Doesn't their trolling imply that either they aren't borrowing much, or that God is a wimp?

Would you promise to give him 10% of all your earthly possessions and your income?

If so, I could probably reveal this human to you
