Default 11th Circuit hears oral arguments on Roy Moore's 10 Commandments Today

The 11th Circuit heard oral arguments today on Judge Roy Moore's 10 Commandment plaque. According to early news media reports, they were very critical of Moore's arguments. Judge Carnes (a fellow Alabama Republican and George I appointee) said he was amazed at Moore's argument.

We will see how he votes, though.

Amazed as in intrigued, fascinated, and impressed?

If arguments defending the placement of a 2 1/2-ton Ten Commandments monument in the Alabama Judicial Building are accepted, the implications could be "staggering," a federal appeals judge hearing the case said.

A state Supreme Court's walls could be adorned with murals of the life of Christ and the Crucifixion, and even marked with block letters asking, "What would Jesus do?" Judge Ed Carnes of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said.

Not that I know of, FTR. I am only repeating comments that I heard on this afternoon's NPR.

I'm sure we'll see a lot more in tomorrow's Birmingham News.
