RBAC, How does one gain eternal life? Is it just the act of "believing"? Do you have to be "Born Again"? If so, what does being "Born Again" mean?

Well, you got the middle bit right. There can be no dispute, Rationalize BAC, your beliefs are totally irrational.

Now that you have told us WHAT you believe, I'm sure we'd all like to hear WHY you hold those beliefs.

Having admitted that your beliefs are irrational, why did you settle on those specific beliefs, when you could have had, for example, the great bugblatter beast of Traal, or any minor Greco-Roman deity you care to mention?

Don't really have much time right now. Got to get a tailpipe put on my car and then later on to work.

But will do a short one--

I emphasized in previous posts what I considered to be the rational side of my Christianity. I obviously convinced absolutely no one about that part and have given it up --at least for the time being.--or I can think of some better arguments.

But I realized that by completely ignoring the "faith" part of my belief system I was giving a lot of people the wrong idea.

Real quick short answer for the time being-------I admit freely that my core beliefs are "faith based". Not based on anything factual at all. Completely irrational. Hard to answer questions about "faith" when all I can really say for sure about it---is that it is an emotion I feel deep within me.

Best I can do on that.

From the many RBAC posts I've read, I would say that he holds those beliefs out of familiarity and comfort. Christianity is a spiritual security blanket that makes him feel good.

Cool

Nothing wrong in a security blanket. I bet we all have something similar no matter what your core beliefs. Mine is cigarettes.

Yeah, but at least your security blanket doesn't disappear into a puff of smoke when you need it.

Wait a minute yes it does!

:lol

I know that, you know that, we all know that, Mike.

All except Rationalize BAC, that is.

I smoke, too... And I brew and drink lots of beer.

I don't think there's anything "wrong" with a security blanket, per se. Calling it rational is.

If it's the best you can do it's very poor. Now try telling us WHY. Is your faith based entirely on an emotion deep within you?

Traveling abroad recently I was talking to some local people who were speaking in a language that I not only didn't know but had never even heard of. One fellow gave me a lengthy explanation in what to me was gibberish. When he was done he folded his arms and gave me a big smile.
That's happening again here.
What the heck does the term "faith based" mean? What I'm hearing is 'the reason I believe things I know to be irrational is because I believe them.' That can't possibly be what is meant by "faith based" because that's just plain silly. It must be some buzz-word that has a less than obvious meaning.
