Default Burn the Triclavianists!! Errr... burn the what?

Not that I'd ever heard of triclavianism but apparently it's enough of a bone of contention that this extrordinary site left its web hosting service:

3 nails = heresy (apparently)

By the by, this site has enough fuel for QOS to write 3 or 4 NW postings. For example:

Landover Baptist must burn!!

Quote:
NEWS FLASH! If you had any doubts as to the affiliation of the creator of Landover Baptist check out this link which shows pictures from an Atheist convention that "Reverend" Chris Harper was a key speaker at with other anti-Christian blackguards such as Douglas Adams and Dave "Mephistopheles" Kong!

Oh no! Not the infamous italicized Atheists!! Those are spawned from the loins of Reason.. err.. Satan himself!

Or how about:

Mystery blob = Leviathan = creationism = true = WTF?!?

Quote:
If this is only whale blubber, why all the security? I have asked Dr. Molinero to tell me her findings as soon as she gives the sample a proper Christian examination.

Yes, and I think Col. Mustard harpooned the whale from behind the grassy knoll. Why do I get the feeling that "proper Christian examination" has little to do with science and a lot to do with spin control and prayer?

Ok, one more:

Conspiracy theorist + fundie = completely insane

Quote:
Evolutionists To Place Mark of the Beast on the Beasts
(3/16/2003) Evolutionary taxonomists are planning to replace the current binomial nomenclature -- invented by noted Christian naturalist Carolus Linnaeus as a testament to God's Creative Power -- with a system of barcodes based on snippets of DNA.

Ok, now they're just being silly. I like how they take a cheap shot at the "aquatic ape theory" (some shaky science in that one there) but AAT still has a more firm grasp of scientific method by a LONG shot over their literalist version of creationism. I think these folks are as offended as we are by the ID movement in public education but for all the wrong reasons.

There is comedy gold aplenty in them thar web pages. You should peruse this site if you want a big laugh. WARNING: OP cannot be held resposible for damages to monitor or keyboard if you choose to drink and read this website at the same time.

MODS: I really did mean this to be about triclavianism when I started but I read more of the site and couldn't help myself. If it needs to be moved sorry for the inconvenience.

Oh ancient and betentacled one, any website which has anything about 'down with Landover Baptist' is highly likely to be produced by the same people as Landover, or else friends of theirs.

IOW that site is a shuck.

If anyone knows of a site which condemns Landover, but seems to be serious, let me know.

I'm almost convinced that that site is a parody. Look at the author bios in the Members section... they all look extremely stereotypical and not to mention, Photo-Shopped. And try searching for information about Mt. Fellowship Baptist or Fellowship University.

If that site is a parody, it's a very subtle one. If it is an honest-to-God fundie site, then it's still pretty damn funny.

Ugh, I can't believe I fell for it. Unlike Landover this site is much more subtle. Its links go to actual xtian sites, the humor is not so outrageous (mostly)** that it would be outside the realm of a NutWatch write up, and it lacks the typical tiny links that Landover has to clue you in on the joke. Another problem is I got the link from www.cruel.com and it linked to the creation science fair winners, I then got side tracked to the shutdown LB link that I never did read the winners till later. When I did read them, well let's just say they are so bad it has to be parody:

**I should of known

Even the store is subtle as the items may be goofy to you and I but seemed reasonable in a fundie sense. Until I got to a thong?!?

At least I'm not alone.

However due to extreme embarassment for playing the sucker I will now light myself on fire. Good night! I'll be here all week. Try the veal!

No problem, I think at one time or another *everyone* has been burned by it.

**cough**

Mind if I smoke?

**cough**

Anyway, there are 2 reasons I'm disappointed I fell for this:

1) Way back when, when I first found Landover I wasn't fooled for a nano second. It was close but too over the top.

2) The fact that I've heard enough snippets of the things espoused on the site from various fundie sources (BB posts, websites, conversations, etc) that it comes across in any way believeable worries me.

Don't feel too bad about being deceived by that site; it gets posted around here about once a week with someone or the other thinking it's serious. The problem is that it is so subtle and comes so close to what some Xians actually say and believe.

Look at some of the winning experiments from the Science Fair for more (hilarious) evidence of why this site is a clever parody site.

Edited to add: Aah, I notice Kthulhu has already posted a link to the Science Fair.
