After the nasty e-mail I just got from her, I think your prayers are going to be answered. I hate this shit.

So now we'll spend the next few months on the edge of our seats with suspense. We'll be wondering if the she dragon will get custody of the kids. Plase be sensible, Vicar.

Tempers are flaring right now. She claims that she is planning to leave at the end of the summer. She also claims that she feels I went behind her back telling my parents about my job, something I thought was stupid anyway.

I imagine we are both saying things right now that we don't mean 100%, but knowing that doesn't make it hurt less.

I am trying to be sensible. Perhaps in a few days her fire breath will have been quenched.

You're controlling her? Ha! Who is she to tell you that you can't share something important with your mom? Give me a break! Oh and the stop and let me out of the car thing? Classic.

You've got to get to the bottom of this divorce thing. You have a silly childish fight (don't we all), but now you're planning divorce again. There's a pattern for conflict resolution that's not working here, and you're part of that. You've changed the subject of the conflict, but the pattern is still the same.

I think we need to let the Vicar decide what is best for his situation. Also, I think we should also let him use derogatory names (I believe you've call his wife a bitch in a past post) if he chooses, but as bystanders, we should not, as it's not helpful.

openeyes,

This much is obvious. Even if I did want to force Darren to do something--which I don't--then how would I go about doing it?

*shrug* Hey, I call 'em as I see 'em. I don't think Darren is in disagreement with me on the "bitch" remark right now.

Sincerely,

Goliath

*sigh* I don't pray, and I don't even really want you to undergo the pain and headache that a divorce must be. However, I don't see a better solution to your domestic problems.

B. Shack,

The trouble is, those fundy United States judges might award custody of the children to that she dragon wife. After all... that she dragon is a Christian.
This is true. However, how damaging is it for these children to be living in a household where the conflicts that Darren and his wife have are an everyday occurrence?

Also, there's a good chance that the "she dragon" would get the children not only because she's a xian, but because she's a woman (IIRC, a vast majority of child custody cases are won by the female....if I'm wrong, let no one hesitate in correcting me).

Sincerely,

Goliath

If Vicar wanted to decide on his own without public input, he wouldn't be here. If he's going to put his life up for public input, he's going to get that. He has a spouse that tends to do things like take his prize possessions out on the front lawn for a little bonfire for all the family to see. If you put that out for public comment, what do you expect? Who are you to say that Goliath's bluntly frank reactions aren't exactly what Vicar needs to hear?

I think Goliath's posts balance nicely with the soft, take anything she throws out (she's trying to do God's work you know), and go on to her minister/counsellor to pray about it posts.

It's definitely not peaches and cream, but IME, divorce is worse.

I'm sorry VP. Try to keep your chin up and your head level...

...and actually, from what VP has written, I don't think the conflict is an everyday occurrence.
