Is God irreducibly complex?
If intelligent design theory can be used to empirically detect design, then why stop at life on earth? What about the Christian God?
Is he irreducibly complex? It would seem so; for example, take away his omnipotence and he is no longer the Christian God. Now apply the explanatory filter. What is the probability that God came about by means of chance natural processes? Zilch! Therefore it would appear that the designer is designed! We know nothing about his designer but can still be confident that he was the result of intelligent design. It appears that ID has not only solved the origin of life on earth but the origin of God as well. |

You don't seem to understand. God is SUPERNATURAL *eerie music plays in the background*. That means you can't make any logical arguments about him at all. I have thereby refuted your claims (as they clearly try to apply logic to the existence of God). [/sarcasm]
Anyway, this seems to be the main response I get when I bring up this argument. Good old supernatural...it always provides an out when logic threatens to overwhelm poorly-rationalized concepts. |

The IDeists have finally proved, beyond any doubt, that God must have been designed and created by Her Magnificent Grace The Invisible Pink Unicorn.
